The goal of this first-year seminar course is to help you identify and overcome barriers to personal and professional excellence so you are able to focus on individual achievement at Georgia Tech and beyond. Learning more about leadership will help you meet your leadership challenges and explore how perceptions of gender affect leadership. Through a leadership project, assessments, and individual and group leadership experiments, we will investigate the common challenges that hinder women, individuals and teams as they pursue their desire to grow and increase their impact. In this seminar, you will be expected to ask questions; intentionally explore and develop your leadership skills through trial and self-discovery; as well as critically reflect on feedback from peers, faculty and staff. We realize the transition to college is exciting, overwhelming, challenging, eventful, and more—and all at once! This is a time to experiment and gain valuable insights about your leadership potential so get ready to explore with us!
