While the area around the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center is generally well-lit and safe, it is always wise to please remain aware of your surroundings in an unfamiliar city. At night, use caution or travel in pairs.

Metro Subway (MARTA)

MARTA is Atlanta’s public transportation system. There is a MARTA station located inside the Hartsfield-Jackson Airport that travels directly to midtown (exit at the northern end of the North Avenue station). The North Avenue MARTA station is approximately two blocks from the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center (walk north on West Peachtree Street, turn left on 5th street, and continue for 1 block. The hotel is immediately on the right). Single trip, single day, and multi-day passes are available for purchase at every MARTA rail station. Please be aware that after 9PM, metro trains run less every 18 minutes, rather than every 8 minutes.

Atlanta Things to Do

There are a variety of things to do in Atlanta (see Atlanta’s best attractions at http://www.atlanta.net/things-to-do/). Nearby tourist attractions include: World of Coca-Cola, Georgia Aquarium, Atlanta Botanical Gardens, Piedmont Park, High Museum of Art, Centennial Olympic Park, CNN, the King Center and the Carter Center to name but a few. It is too early to determine if the Atlanta Dream or the Atlanta professional baseball team will be in town during NASSH. If they are in town, we can help facilitate the purchase of group tickets with each attendee paying for their individual ticket.
