Ali Eshaghian Dorche

Ali received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in electrical engineering from Sharif University of Technology in 2012 and 2014, respectively. He is the recipient of the fellowship for M.Sc. study at Sharif University of Technology as an exceptional talent, and received the IEEE distinguished Master thesis award for his work on plasmonic circuitry. During his stay at the Integrated Photonics Laboratory (IPL) as a research assistant (2011-2015), he mentored two B.Sc. and two M.Sc. theses. In 2016, he moved to the United States and started his study toward Ph.D. at Georgia Tech, where he is currently working on integrated photonics structures with applications to on-chip frequency comb generation and quantum opticsHe also has a minor in physics focused on aspects related to his research on quantum optics and integrated photonics. His research has led to a new approach in dispersion engineering for efficient frequency comb generation. He is also recipient of TI:GER (Technological innovation, generating economic results) fellowship. During the TI:GER program, Ali is working toward commercializing technology in integrated photonics/quantum photonics area, developing his entrepreneurship skills. He has made extensive network at both research institutes, and industry, which enables him understand the challenges and opportunities. His research interests are integrated photonics, nonlinear photonics, quantum optics, and investigation of new materials for integrated photonics.
