Daniel Paes

Ph.D. Student
School of Building Construction
Expected Graduation: May 2019
E-mail: dpaes at gatech dot edu

Over the past six years, Daniel has been conducting HCI-based research on Immersive Virtual Reality (IVR) effectiveness in diverse architecture and construction applications. His research approach is user-centered, quantitative/inferential, and comparative, largely based on users’ sense of presence, visual perception, learning, and task performance in virtual environments. Daniel’s research interests also include Augmented Reality (AR), Building Information Modeling (BIM), Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), and quantitative research methods in Human-Computer Interaction and Cognitive Psychology.
